On 18th and 19th March 2026, ITCS “Abba‑Ballini” in Brescia hosted a series of training and collaborative activities foreseen within the ECO‑IDEA project, with the participation of the partner‑school delegations:
– Spain: two teachers and four students;
– Czech Republic: one teacher and five students.
The two‑day programme combined learning sessions, workshops and international peer interaction, fully aligned with the objectives of the project.
18th March 2026 – Conference “Artificial Intelligence and Future Challenges in the World of Work”
The morning of 18th March opened with a conference on artificial intelligence and its impact on the world of work. The four speakers offered students an accessible and complementary overview of the ongoing transformations.
Canzio Dusi encouraged students to move beyond the idea of innovation as the mere adoption of digital tools, highlighting the need to integrate AI into organizational culture and decision‑making.
Barbara Donzelli illustrated how, in the tourism sector, the quality of data has become essential for effective strategies and for understanding an increasingly dynamic market.
Laura Rocca explained how economic and administrative professions are evolving, requiring new skills linked to critical data interpretation and the governance of AI‑generated information.
Finally, Cristina Zanini offered a more personal and value‑driven reflection, reminding students that language, narrative choices and the ability to ask the right questions — not only how, but above all what and why — remain central even in the age of algorithms.
The conference provided students with concrete insights into the skills needed for the future and the enduring importance of human experience in a rapidly changing technological landscape.
In the afternoon, Italian students and partner‑school students took part in a short preparatory session for the Debate Competition. The group reviewed the main rules of English‑language debate and examined the assigned topics. Working in mixed teams allowed students to coordinate and outline their general approach ahead of the following day’s competition.
19th March 2026 – Debate Competition
The morning of 19th March was dedicated to the Debate Competition, involving the Spanish and Czech delegations together with the English debate group of ITCS Abba‑Ballini.
Students were organized into four international teams, each composed of participants from all three partner countries.
The competition highlighted:
– critical thinking;
– argumentative skills in English;
– intercultural cooperation;
– respect for the principles of democratic debate.
The jury assessed clarity, coherence, use of evidence and overall communication quality.
In the afternoon, the delegations joined a guided tour of Brescia’s historic center, visiting its main cultural and artistic landmarks.
The visit provided an informal moment of intercultural exchange and an opportunity to appreciate the local heritage, completing the educational experience of the two‑day programme.
